Instagram is a free popular application for iPhone or Android that allows you to take photos, modify them with special effects and then share them on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Instagram itself.
Instagram takes square photographs, similar to those taken by Kodak Instamatic cameras in the 1960s. The name Instagram comes from “snapshot” photographs taken with Polaroid cameras. It has several digital filters that allows you to transform the photographs you take, improving the quality of the final product. You can also modify the colors, the environment, the edges and the tones. The final image can be shared on many social networks such as Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, among others, and even send via email. You can also process and share photos that were taken at a later time and were on the mobile phone.
First you should get the free version from the Apple Store or Google Play depending on what your mobile device. Once downloaded, start the application by clicking on the icon which you can easily recognize as a camera.
In order to use Instagram, it is necessary to register in the Instagram network, providing a user name, besides indicating an email address, a password, a telephone number and an image, these last two fields being optional. You can also register using your Facebook ID.
To start Instagram it is recommended to start with a search of your friends in Facebook and other social networks that already have an account in this Instagram. Instagram will suggest a list of friends, to follow them, you must click on the continue button to send and receive your photos. Once users have been selected, click on the “done” button.
To start using Instagram, click on the central button. This will activate the camera on the mobile device, take a photo directly or selecting it from the photo gallery of the mobile device. Then several filters can be applied, one of the main features of this application. In addition Instagram allows to include a description of the photograph, where you can include tags (also hashtags) related to the image and mention people.
Then you can share the photo through Instagram with most social networks.
You can also see the images published by friends and acquaintances. This can be done by accessing the button “explore”. Here you can comment the photographs and “like” the photos by clicking the heart button.
Instagram does not want to miss the opportunity to serve those who want to upload their mini-videos to the network. That’s why this popular service, owned by Facebook gave users the option to upload videos, a maximum of 15 seconds in length, to compete with Vine, the mini- Twitter videos. Users will be able to capture and edit videos up to 15 seconds (vs. six seconds of Vine). In addition, they will be able to apply almost 13 filters of their choice on the videos.
