Instagram Reaches 600 Million Active Subscribers

Facebook owned photo app, Instagram, has added 100 million active users in less than 6 months, surpassing its own user acquisition records.

The company will close the year generating more than 1.5 billion dollars in revenue

Thus, Instagram has indicated that its user base already exceeds 600 million subscribers. In June this year, the company exceeded 500 million users.

So, what is the key to the company’s tremendous success? In addition to the boom already experienced in previous months (Instagram was previously growing at a rate of 100 million users every 9 months, but now has reduced the time period by half) behind this new increase are possibly the multiple innovations and improvements that the company has been presenting in recent months.

Since last June, the company has launched, for example, Instagram Stories, a Snapchat like ability to create ephemeral content that has been widely accepted by users. In fact it is estimated that more than 100 million people use it at least once a month.

In addition, Instagram now lets you “like” comments, send out temporary photos and videos, save posts for later viewing, live video streaming and has also increased the duration of videos up to 60 seconds etc.

With all of this and increasing users, Instagram is expected to close the year by generating more than $ 1.5 billion in advertising revenue. Undoubtedly, the acquisition of the photo app is becoming a more than profitable business for Facebook. Thanks to the policy of development and expansion that has been carried out with it.
