After iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7 took the media by storm recently, Google is set to make its entry as well by announcing the launch of Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. These phones are expected to arrive on October 4th at a Google event. The invitations and teaser video for the event are already out and big changes are expected.
It is confirmed that the phones are made by HTC and there will be no “Nexus” branding. Google has totally ditched the “Nexus” brand. The name “Pixel” will be used on the new devices. As per the reports, the Pixel phone will have a 5.2-inch, 1080p resolution screen. As for the Pixel XL, it’ll have a much larger 5.5-inch, QuadHD screen. Both smartphones will come with a rear 12 megapixels camera and a front 8 megapixels camera. They are expected to come in three storage sizes, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Like iPhone, they are getting rid of the memory cards for memory expansions. The pixel phones will have 4GB of RAM and will come with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chip.
