Samsung had announced a global recall of Galaxy Note 7 two months ago when the battery of few of its phones exploded. The company is still unable to know the cause of the explosion. And because of this mystery, the company has delayed the development of its next flagship Galaxy S8, according to Wall Street Journal.
Though Samsung has not yet responded to the request for commenting on this, but the company’s spokeswoman said that the company is still searching the cause overheating of phones.
“We recognized that we did not correctly identify the issue the first time and remain committed to finding the root cause,” she said. “Our top priority remains the safety of our customers and retrieving 100 percent of the Galaxy Note 7 devices in the market.”
The efforts to solve this mystery are now affecting the development of Galaxy S8. It has been delayed by a couple of weeks because the engineers are trying to search the root cause of overheating issues of Note 7 as per one member of the development team of Galaxy S8.
It was expected the Galaxy Note 7 would solidify the company’s lead in the market of mobile after the success of Galaxy S7. Samsung has just regained its swagger after stumbling the last year with its lackluster products.
But the company had dealt a massive mess while issuing the global recall of Galaxy Note 7 after a battery issue apparently caused many phones to burst or explode into flames.
Samsung has decided to discontinue the production of Note 7 after the second worldwide recall of the devices. It is expected that this decision will cost the company $3 billion. This is more than a nightmare to Samsung.
So are you waiting for Galaxy S8 or you have dropped the idea of buying S8?
